🎧 Tapehlyn (Tap) Tapeh is joining the Future of Faith team as our new Administrative Assistant 🙌🏿

How did we get so lucky? Tapehlyn (Tap) Tapeh is joining Future of Faith as an Administrative Assistant and has already proven to be so valuable in such a short time. She has a passion for the work we're doing and the ability and skills to help hold the center for all of us here at Future of Faith. There is just no end to her enthusiasm, spirit and generosity. We can't wait for you to get to know her as we have. Here's a small peek into what makes Tap tick!

  1. What’s a small but meaningful way you show others they’re truly heard?

When having a conversation with someone, I make sure to allow them to speak however they feel comfortable for however long. I don’t interrupt others so they know I’m holding space for them to speak. I also like to find small details in conversations and express that I see them as important and valuable for others.

  1. What advice would you give to others who want to build stronger connections within their faith communities?

Be open to being vulnerable and sharing your story with others. It’s easier to build trust with another person if they can connect with you through the story that you choose to tell.

  1. What is one book that shaped your approach to ministry?

Is the Bible a cheesy answer? Following Jesus’ journey of how he approached ministry is not only inspiring but informative about how to treat your members. Jesus actively listened and provided a safe space for his followers to express their concerns, doubts, fears, etc. I desire to provide that safe space myself for the people I serve within my own ministry.

  1. What is one podcast you’d recommend?

The Basement with Tim Ross. He’s not afraid to speak on sensitive or controversial topics that most pastors would shy away from in the church. I love that he keeps it real and always refers back to scripture in any argument that he has.

  1. If you had to live in a movie universe for a month, which one would you choose?

The Marvel Universe of course but specifically in Black Panther’s Wakanda. I know they don’t have constant galaxy-ending threats on their territory versus the Avengers having one every two seconds.
