Welcome Adriana Lopez!!!

We're so thrilled that Adriana has joined us as our new Associate Researcher!

Adriana is a M.A student in Social Research and Data Analysis at Montclair State University with a focus on community-based work, education, and social impact. She values creating spaces that encourage learning, connection, sense of belonging and development.

1. What’s a small but meaningful way you show others they’re truly heard?

   
   

One small but meaningful way I show people they’re heard is by reflecting back what they share in my own words.

2. What advice would you give to others who want to build stronger connections within their faith communities?

   
   

I believe it’s important to intentionally build warm, supportive spaces where people feel accepted for who they are. When people feel that they are valued beyond structured settings, it strengthens relationships and helps foster a more genuine sense of community.

3. What is one book that shaped your approach to ministry?

Tears of a Tiger by Sharon Draper shaped my understanding of how people carry pain in ways that are not always visible. It reinforced the importance of empathy, presence, and creating environments where individuals feel seen, supported, and not alone in their experiences.

4. What is one podcast you’d recommend?

    I would recommend The Mel Robbins Podcast because it’s very practical and easy to connect with. I like how she breaks things down in a way that makes you reflect on your                habits, mindset, and how you interact with others.

5. Fun one: Would you rather live without music or without movies?

I would rather live without movies. Music is something I turn to for reflection, comfort, and joy.
