The Revival That Wasn’t—and the One That May Be

The front door of the church has moved.

For previous generations, a church building or a pastoral title was often enough to get people through the doors. That era is over.

Young people today will not walk into a building simply because it exists.

But Raymond Chang and Josh Packard wrote a new piece for Christianity Today to remind leaders that this does not mean Gen Z is closed to the gospel.

They are actively seeking meaning and truth. They just only accept it from adults and communities who have first demonstrated genuine care for them.

Young people must feel they belong before they can believe.

Josh and Raymond unpacked this dynamic and highlighted congregations that are successfully reaching young people by leading with curiosity and listening.
